Brief About NECO.
NECO stands for the National Examination Council, which is a Nigerian organization responsible for conducting and administering examinations for secondary school students in Nigeria. The council was established in 1999 and is headquartered in Minna, Niger State.
NECO conducts the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for students in their final year of secondary school. This examination is usually taken in June/July and is designed to test the students’ knowledge and understanding of the subjects they have studied.
The SSCE examination consists of two parts: the theory examination and the practical examination. The theory examination is a written examination that tests the students’ understanding of the subjects, while the practical examination tests their ability to apply what they have learned practically.
NECO is responsible for setting the examination questions, marking the scripts, and issuing certificates to successful candidates. The council is also involved in the registration of candidates, the conduct of examinations, and the collation and dissemination of results.
