The National Population Commission (NPC) has indefinitely postponed the training program for enumerators and supervisors at the local government level who were engaged for the 2023 national population census exercise.
The training, which was originally set to commence on April 13th, was announced to be postponed by the Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Isiaka Yahaya, in a statement via the Commission’s official Twitter account on Wednesday.
Despite the postponement, Dr. Yahaya assured Nigerians that the Commission is fully dedicated to conducting a credible and acceptable population and housing census, and that all preparations are ongoing.
According to the Director of Public Affairs for the National Population Commission, Dr. Isiaka Yahaya, the training program for the Local Government level supervisors and enumerators which was earlier postponed indefinitely will be rescheduled. However, no specific date has been announced yet.
The Commission is taking necessary measures to ensure that the new date for the training program is communicated to the public as soon as possible. This delay in the training program is not expected to affect the overall goal of conducting a successful population and housing census in 2023.
The Commission remains committed to ensuring that all necessary preparations are made to achieve a credible and acceptable census exercise.
